Participate in the National Occupational Classification’s consultations
Introduction
Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and Statistics Canada invite you to provide comments on the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
You can provide comments on the NOC 2021. Your comments and suggestions will be taken into account for the annual Evergreening process of the NOC or for the next major revision if they relate to the structure of the classification or to the composition of the different unit groups.
Objective
The comments received will be used to support occupational research and to update the NOC.
Who can participate
This consultation targets:
- government, all levels;
- non-governmental organizations;
- companies and industry associations;
- academics and researchers;
- career counselors and career planning specialists; and
- any other interested person.
How to participate
Participants are invited to provide feedback via the Contact us section of the website.
Consultation period
The consultation period is open. Stakeholders interested in submitting proposals to be considered as part of the NOC 2026 revision are invited to do so by November 15, 2024.
Proposals should clearly identify the proposed change to the NOC and outline the rationale for the change and include supporting information such as main duties; educational background and certification (if any) and current job titles used in the labour market.

Treatment of comments
A team of representatives from ESDC and Statistics Canada will analyze the comments received. Departments reserve the right to use independent consultants or government employees, if deemed necessary, to assess comments.
If deemed appropriate, departments will contact respondents to ask additional questions or for clarification.
Official languages
Comments may be written in either of Canada's official languages, English or French.

Personal information collected during this consultation will be protected under the Privacy Act.
