NOC 2011 Revision Information Bulletin

In preparation for the NOC 2011 version, current NOC research priorities involve aligning Statistics Canada's NOC-S system with the NOC coding framework and adapting the NOC 2006 to reflect the significant structural changes in the Canadian labour market since 2001. The purpose of "NOC 2011 Revision Information Bulletin" is to keep NOC 2006 users informed of the progress and major decisions taken throughout the revision process.

Structure of the NOC 2011

The structure of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2011 is being jointly released today by Statistics Canada and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). When implemented, this classification will replace Statistics Canada’s National Occupational Classification for Statistics (NOC-S) 2006 and HRSDC’s National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2006, eliminating the differences that have existed between these classifications.

The structure of the National Occupational Classification 2011 is available on Statistics Canada’s Web site.
